The Orange Elementary School District has struggled for many years with fiscal constraints and declining enrollments, even as the school was attempting to deliver modern 21st Century teaching and learning. RDA was engaged to lead a vigorous District-wide visioning process, which explored a new school and an addition/renovation, along with various grade configurations. After studying 12 town-owned sites, the RDA team presented 18 alternate development options. The new 86,000 sf school meets the educational program, supports 21st Century learning, and addresses existing safety concerns, and meets cost efficiency requirements. The $53 million Fisher Hill Elementary serves 450 Pre-K-3rd grade students and opened in time for the 2023 school term.
